We care for the well-being of our staff and the quality of life of communities living within the areas of influence of our operations at a national level. “My Little Virú” Day Care Centre Social responsibility “My Little Virú” Day Care Centre We support the development and training of sensory capacities of the children of our workers and the community thanks to the "My Little Virú" Day Care Centre which offers food and physical, cognitive and emotional stimulation while the parents go to work with peace of mind. This day care centre has a capacity to take care of 70 children and seeks to foster affective participation with peers learning with fun. Healthy Campaigns Social responsibility Healthy Campaigns For Virú it is important to contribute to the health of the population; that is why year after year we develop our Great Campaign for free medical care for the major areas of influence of Víctor Raúl and California, which benefits more than 800 families, who can be assisted by various medical specialists to diagnose and prevent possible diseases, receive guidance in matters of health, nutrition and psychology and, above all, to receive medical treatments completely free. Educational Institution N°2117 Social responsibility Educational Institution N°2117 Being committed to the intellectual and cognitive development of children living in communities in our areas of influence in the vicinity, Virú has constructed a new high quality facility for the Educational Institution N°2117 that provides for more than 170 children in the area. This new Educational Centre offers the right conditions to ensure an excellent level of education. Previously, the institution had only 3 container-like prefabricated classrooms, a dirt patio and a cane fence. Today, it has 6 classrooms equipped with computers and furniture, a dining room, administrative rooms, a store room, a playground and games area. Activity-packed summer holidays Social responsibility Activity-packed summer holidays For the benefit of our communities and to promote sports, creativity and arts in children, Virú develops throughout the summer holiday its "activity-packed holidays", an initiative that provides various free workshops for Football, Drawing and Painting, Dance and Mini Chef to the children of the different areas of influence in Virú and Chincha including: Víctor Raúl, California and Lurinchincha. Project Fair Social responsibility Project Fair In Virú we encourage the creativity and proactivity of our colleagues with the Project Fair, which takes place in all units of Virú and Chincha and allows them to put into practice the ability to create projects for the implementation of improvements or new processes in the company. Through this initiative, we recognize the ideas, creativity, impact, sustainability and the performance of all workers. Currently, Virú has succeeded in presenting, in its 10 editions, more than 200 projects, 32 of which have been implemented to date, thus achieving more efficient processes developed by our colleagues. Virú Scholarship Social responsibility Virú Scholarship We are committed to the good academic performance and growth of the families of our colleagues. The "Virú Scholarship" is a program that rewards the efforts of the most outstanding students of each school year. Those students who have achieved the top place in academic excellence in their class are complimented and recognized with a full list of school supplies, uniforms and backpacks for the new school year. More than 50 students between the ages of 6 to 16 years of age are recognized each year. Building Hope Social responsibility Building Hope Building Hope is a Social Support Program that seeks to promote the improvement of quality of life of our colleagues so that they can have access to their own house with better and more secure infrastructure. Thanks to this Program, Virú provides interest-free loans and, in some cases, donates the materials to build the homes of the employees that need access to a better place to live. Christmas means Sharing in the Community Social responsibility Christmas means Sharing in the Community We carry our joy and Christmas spirit to all our colleagues at the different plants, their families and communities with children's shows and hot chocolate parties, delivery of presents and Christmas baskets. Every year we help more than 5,000 families and 17,000 children in different areas of Trujillo (El Milagro and Alto Trujillo), Barranca (Vinto Alto and Bajo, Alto Perú, Santa Elena, El Mirador, etc.), Virú (Valle de Dios, Winchanzao, Víctor Raúl and California), Nuevo Chimbote (Las Lomas and Tierra Prometida), Chimbote (San Pedro and Camino Real), Chincha and Pucallpa.
